When I was about 19 years old or so I purchased a sky blue 260Z 2+2. LOVED that car. Did all kinds of stuff to it (cam, weber carbs, stereo, etc). Me, my girlfriend(s), and my friends loved that car.
Got totaled. Always wanted to get into a Z car again. Flash forward to adulthood...and about 15 years ago, was looking to get another Mitsubishi Starion Turbo like the one I was daily driving that was getting kind of old. Was searching and searching and found some Z's and other cars online. Fell in love with the Z's and the thoughts of being a Z owner again. It was time. Found and bought my pretty-much-mint-condition 300ZX Twin Turbo in Illinois and drove it back home to Colorado. Enjoyed every single mile of that trip back home and couldn't believe I was in this thing.
Got er' home and decided it was wayyyyy too nice to daily drive, like had been the original plan. So sold the Starion as planned, but, purchased an Acura TL for daily use, and kept my newly acquired TTZ to be used as my poor man's Ferrari. Put about 21,000 miles on it (lots of fun upgrades and maintenance) in the 15 years I've owned it and love every minute of it (has done a couple of trips to Vegas and many, many miles of Colorado canyon driving + local Cars and Coffee shows)... Love it each day even if just looking at it each time I go into the garage.
